In the Moment Gallery taken a major pivot in 2020. The "In the Moment" name and logo was created to reflect the photographic style of the art you would find here. It still does, but it has taken on a new meaning.
My name is Ann-Louise Good and today, Houston, Texas is my home . I have been a landscape photographer in my "spare" time for over 25 years now. I have travelled all over the world collecting memories with my camera, making great friends along the way, and experiencing some amazing places.
"In the Moment" is quite simply how the art takes shape for me.
The Great American and former National Geographic Photographer Sam Abell challenges photographers he teaches to ask three questions:
Is it involving? Is it evolving? Does it stay?
When I go out on a creative excursion with my camera, I can't always plan for it like a full time photographer would be able to. I always ask the 3 questions, but I must accept the weather that day, the place, the activities happening that are photograph worthy. I just shoot "In the Moment" that God gives me that day. And over the years? That method has proven to be very rewarding. (Most of the time lol)
But 2020 has caused us all to stop.
To "stay home" "In the Moment"...to reflect inward and outward about what is happening, to think about our own health and others, to speak up for social injustice, to understand what part we have to play, to be more present, and to do our best to be a difference maker in the world.
Thus the pivot. We have created In the Moment clothing and product using the photography to inspire you to take action in your own life.
Be Kind, Be Better, Be Brave, Forgive, Love, Laugh "In the Moment".
In the Moment Gallery will donate a portion of all proceeds to take action in the world around us with a focus on the working poor, single parents, post secondary education opportunities for the less fortunate and homelessness.
It has been a long journey to get here and we will continue to create and inspire with our art, our collaborations, and our podcast.
"For me, photography is to place ones head, heart and eye along the same line of sight. It is a way of life." Henri Cartier-Bresson
